Democratic Republic of the Congoコンゴ民主共和国

The Democratic Republic of Congo achieved the elimination of leprosy as a public health problem (defined by the WHO as a prevalence rate of less than 1 case per 10,000 people) in 2008. But it reports the highest number of annual new cases in Africa, and the fourth highest in the world. With a vast land mass, the DRC has high-endemic areas where leprosy remains a problem.
