Guinea achieved the elimination of leprosy as a public health problem (defined by the WHO as a prevalence rate of less than 1 case per 10,000 people) in 2006. These photos from 2008 show a health center in Madina, a suburb of the capital, Conakry, which sees leprosy patients on an out-patient basis, and Damakanya health post in Kindia, about 135 km east of Conakry, specializing in HIV/AIDS, leprosy and TB.
