Miyako Tanaka-Oulevey

I am Miyako Tanaka-Oulevey. I first learnt about leprosy in elementary school during a religious studies lesson. We learnt about it through the Bible. But I hadn’t thought about that disease much since then. This not thinking about something is how discrimination starts in our society. The most dangerous part about discrimination is when we discriminate against someone without even realizing it. How would you feel if someone you loved contracted leprosy? What would you think if they were discriminated against for no reason even though they were already suffering from being sick? THINK NOW LEPROSY.
